This cozy Catskill Mountain cabin is privately set and comfortable.  Settle in watching the fire in the wood stove after a big meal.  Or move upstairs to the loft to the flat screen TV, DVD player, and music system. Better yet, while away the hours with some good old fashioned board games and books!

Grill dinner on the deck and eat under the sky. Lay back on the lounge chairs.  Sit around the fire pit and count the stars!

  • Very informative hosts, they let us know where everything is in town, check in was a breeze, communication was great, very cozy place.

  • This home is a great place to stay while visiting the Catskills. The house itself has plenty of room for a large family yet is cozy enough for a couple. It was clean and everything was as advertised. Several highlights for me where the sunrise views from the front deck, the wood burning stove, and the very hot water in the shower (A must for those long days out in the cold.) The house is far enough off the main roads to give a sense of complete privacy. Yet is conveniently close to several eating establishments and stores. With its close proximity to hiking trails and ski slopes it is a good "home base" for any time of the year.

  • We had an excellent long weekend at the cabin. The cabin is simple, no frills, but it has everything you need. Fully equipped kitchen, a nice wood fireplace, a lovely deck to sit and relax with a bit of a peekaboo view of some mountains, and a nice backyard. Everything was working properly and communication from the host was excellent! We appreciated that we got to bring our pup with us too, he loved all the space outdoors! And the location is fantastic in my opinion- quiet, slightly secluded but yet close enough to both the villages of Margaretville and Roxbury for all your needs.

  • We really enjoyed spending a long weekend in this house! Very peaceful and quiet place in the mountain with a beautiful view. We had everything we needed in the house and near the house!

  • I want to say a big thank Jason and Phyllis for our wonderful vacation! The house is very cozy! A great place to stay. Special thanks for the huge number of board games - they were very useful to us on rainy days! We hope to return there next vacation)

  • The house is as pictured and is easy to find/drive to with GPS. The location is very convenient to multiple restaurants, a grocery store, shops to check out, and most importantly tons of great hiking.

  • My fiancé & I loved staying at Jason and Phyllis’s cabin. The cabin was nicely decorated and clean, and the view from the deck was beautiful. We enjoyed grilling on the deck and playing board games from the extensive collection. My dog loved it as well! We’d definitely come back

  • Our visit was most enjoyable and provided just the touch of nature and privacy we were looking for. The family thoroughly enjoyed the hiking trails and the bike route around the reservoir. The pups enjoyed excursions into the wooded area around the cottage and the excitement of seeing the various animals. We loved quiet evenings together watching the moon rise and playing various board games. My best recommendation - we plan on a return visit.

  • We had a great stay at Phyllis and Jason's place. It was raining for most of our stay so we ended up staying indoors for much of the time. The house was clean, comfortable, well equipped and with lovely outdoor views. Jason and Phyllis communicated with us throughout our stay to make sure we had everything we needed. Looking forward to returning, hopefully with better weather.

  • We had a very good week at Jason and Phyllis's Woodland Hideaway and especially appreciated their responsiveness, nice touches, and attention to detail. The excellent arrival instructions gave a hint to what we found: - the house was a good size, very comfortable, warm, and spotlessly clean when we arrived - it was well-stocked with essentials like spices, box of tissues in every room, and plenty of wood for the fire - the Wi-Fi was fast and very reliable - there was deep snow all around but the driveway had been plowed and the deck shoveled - the location is really quiet and great for seeing the stars There is plenty of good hiking a short drive away and, an extra bonus, the Union Distillery is just down the road in Arkville. Also, be sure to check out the "Foothills Shoe" store in Margaretville - they have a really good range of footwear.

  • A beautiful place with a cozy, comfortable house perfect for a family!

  • We had a magnificent stay at Woodland Hideaway. The house was the perfect, tranquil retreat from long ski days at Belleayre. The kitchen was well-stocked with everything we needed for cooking....from microplane zester, to pots and pans of all sizes. There was a great desk and work space, with fast Internet, and loads of books and games, for adults, as well as kids of all ages. Our son was pretty excited by the selection of toys and books, and even step stools for him to use. Jason and Phyllis were amazing hosts....they kindly checked in on us during our stay, and were super responsive. We are already planning our next visit!

  • Our family had a great stay at this place and Jason & Phyllis are wonderful host - they were so responsive to our questions and always easy to reach. The direction, house instruction and local tips made our stay much easier. The house is situated in a very quite private road -- it's very tranquil but the driving during snowy winter reason could be a little challenge and you definitely will want to have 4X4 to handle the snow & steep uphill.

  • Fantastic place, great location up a country road, nice big outdoor yard and a beautiful fireplace. Saw plenty of stars and even got a whiff of a snow day. The house is well stocked, the living room fireplace is just perfect for the upcoming winter days and there are lots of games to play! Overall had fun times, highly recommend.

  • The house is pretty old, but clean. It is located on a secluded road away from the highway. Lots of great hiking within a 30 min drive. Balsam mountain fire tower was our favourite hike. We had to call the hosts once with some questions and they gave us lots of recommendations.

  • We had a great time at Jason and Phyllis' cabin in Margaretville. It had everything we were hoping for in an escape from the city: fire pit, deck, hammock, tv, and nobody else around. There are some great hiking spots close by, and the autumn colors were brilliant.

  • I was worried from the photos that the place might be small, but it was a great space with lots of ability to spread out. We also felt secluded and enjoyed the fire pit at night. Jason and Phyllis were super responsive and accommodating. I especially appreciated all of the amenities in the house. Lots of kitchen items, basic cooking ingredients, board games, TV channels, and more.

  • Jason and Phyllis's cabin is a lovely mountain hideaway. It truly is remote and quiet and we especially loved having campfires and grilling in the evening.

  • Very private and serene setting. We enjoyed the large sunny deck and bbq grill. Great little getaway with some amazing pristine hikes in the area. We had a great time.

  • We enjoyed our stay at the Woodland Cabin. Jason and Phyllis were very accommodating, and the cabin fit the needs for our family well with 3 separate bedrooms. We really enjoyed being able to come back to the cabin each night and enjoy a warm fire after skiing at nearby resorts (about 15 minutes away). The setting for the cabin is great, tucked away in the trees up a small mountain road. We would definitely consider staying here again.

  • Jason and Phyllis are great hosts and they would love to work with the guest schedule. I had to ask them for early check-in and late check-out. They tried their best to help! I stayed there for 4th of July long weekend and it was a great experience with local attractions and wonderful state parks and forest. This cabin is very cozy and have a decent privacy in the woods that is perfect for NYC escape. Be prepared for insects if you are visiting during summer. You would see bugs and moth just like you would expect to see in other cabins. There is no AC so it might get hot during the day but it wasn’t too bad and we had a great time there!

  • Six of us went to the Catskill Mountains for Memorial Day, we stayed at Jason and Phyllis's place. It was a cozy cabin tucked away in a beautiful location. Everything was exactly as described. We enjoyed playing games. (provided )and sitting by the fire at night ( chairs provided) . There was spiders in a couple rooms but then again it is a cabin. We rode the Delaware train ride, went to the Fleischmann's Memorial day Fair and couldn't help stopping at a few yard sales. What a beautiful time! Thank you!!

  • We had a wonderful wintery stay at Jason's cabin. It's not big but well-arranged, very cozy, and comfortable. And nicely tucked away as we had hoped. Jason makes sure it has everything you need, offers clear instructions and swift responses. Make sure to come with a four-wheel drive in winter though: our front-wheel hybrid could not handle the last half mile of the journey, up the steep private road, even when it had been plowed. We ended up having to walk up and down to our car, which we didn't particularly mind, and Jason swung by to drive our groceries up to the house, on Christmas Day! All in all a great stay.

  • This was a perfect spot for our last minute weekend getaway. Beautiful and peaceful setting in the woods. Very clean, hosts provided great suggestions, the house had everything we needed!

  • Jason and Phyllis were so helpful when we had questions! Woodland hideaway was private, cozy and well kept. The porch is amazing, everything to grill and cook provided for. Our pup loved the room to run around on the grass outside and was caught rolling in the morning dew on multiple occasions! Beds were comfortable, linens clean. What a lovely mountain home. We would happily return!

  • Woodland Hideaway was the perfect cozy cabin to spend NYE out of the city! Jason and Phyllis were available over email and phone and even helped us get our car off the side of the road when we first arrived. A note to anyone renting in the winter, try your best to get there on a four-wheel drive. The cabin rests on a hill with a gorgeous view from the side of the road, but this can definitely cause an impediment on snowy roads. We loved our stay there and would love to come back!

  • Jason and Phyllis have thought of everything. Can't wait to go to this house in the winter!Jason and Phyllis have thought of everything. Can't wait to go to this house in the winter!

  • The house is really lovely - the deck and yard are amazing for eating outdoors, lounging in the hammock, playing yard games and building a fire in the awesome fire pit. The inside is clean and comfortable and has everything you need in terms of kitchen wares/appliances, basic condiments, linens, board games etc. The decor throughout is definitely retro, but everything works just fine and we had no issues with anything. This is our second time renting from Jason & Phyllis.!\

  • My girlfriend and I stayed here over the weekend. It's a beautiful cabin in a beautiful secluded location. We will definitely be staying here again! Thank you!

  • The house was exactly as advertised and exactly what we were looking for - a hideaway in the woods. A very clean and well-kept house with all sorts of items that were very useful including extra director chairs for use on the deck, maps, guide books, local attractions, some tools, emergency supplies, games and walking sticks! Jason was very attentive to any questions we had and always quick to respond. If you are looking for a quiet getaway in the middle of the woods where you can sit outside on the deck and only hear natural sounds, except for the rare car passing on the road, this place is for you.

  • Jason was very responsive and gave good recommendations. The house was well equipped with everything you need to have a relaxing and comfortable vacation. I will definitely be returning!

  • Private and quiet house, nicely equipped and beautifully situated, was great for our family getaway. Jason and Phyllis were wonderful hosts, very communicative and gave us detailed instructions for every occasion, making the stay a pleasant one. We hope to be back again!

  • Great for our stay to visit family in upstate NY. Nice to find everything clean and neat. Would consider staying again, but might need handicap accessible place if we wanted to invite family to visit. Narrow road could complicate things for a winter stay. Overall, the place was great for us, very relaxing and easy to get to shopping, etc. in town. It was nice having the newspaper and information available for those who do not know the area. :)

  • This home was clean and comfortable. Tucked away on a wooded property with a spacious deck and grill. Kitchen was well stocked. Hannah golf course is just minutes away as is Plattekill mountain for skiing and Mountain biking. We look forward to staying at this cozy cabin again. Who needs a hotel when one kind find home like accommodations like Woodland Hideaway!

  • I just wanted to say we had a Great time at this house. The kids loved the yard and the fire pit was awesome. Peaceful and quiet was just what we needed. The house was the perfect size and so very clean. We will definitely be coming back! Thank You so much

  • The house was amazing. Everything was perfect! I wouldn’t change a thing. I had a great time and loved the location and style of the house. In the future I will be looking to purchase property upstate and I want it to be identical to this house. I hope you can pass my words onto the owner and let them know that I enjoyed it thoroughly. If I book another trip I will be looking to rent the same exact property.

Thank you for everything as far as helping book the room and the little fiasco with the credit card situation.

    Once again thanks again.
