The house was perfect for us. Lovely location, very clean and well stocked. Loved the piano. Communication was great. One suggestion, directions were wonderful with details on how to find the house, could just add directions starting from coming from the northern direction. Thanks, wonderful stay!

Tucked away on a private road, this quiet home is filled with wood accents and charm. All the wood makes you feel like you’re in a country cabin yet there are all the comforts of home.
The outdoor space is large enough for playing. Explore down to the brook and over to the pond! Grill and eat outside under the stars!
Inside is warm and cozy with a sunroom for morning coffee and a woodstove for hot cocoa on chilly evenings. Board games and a piano put the final brush stroke on this Rockwell painting.

Beautiful home and amazing location! Near all the wedding venues and close to town. Would definitely stay again!
Great place to stay - clean, private and close to where we needed to be. We were right by Stone Tavern Farm (3-5 minute drive) - right by the wedding venue we were going to this weekend. The hosts were extremely communicative in their instructions and responsive when we had questions. We highly recommend staying here.
Excellent property and service. Loved the place and location. Will definitely visit again.
Booked this house the day before a Holiday weekend and Jason had it ready to go for us the next day! He warned us the internet was down but told us he’d get there before we did and troubleshoot it! Jason solved the internet problem and got the house ready for our arrival without a hitch! Communication was excellent. I had no need to reach out to Jason once we arrived, but I knew he was just a phone call away. The lights were on when we arrived and we felt right at home! The place has a rustic cabin vibe and this is what I was looking for and was exactly as I expected. Bits of the cabin are dated, but to me it added to the appeal. The space had a unique layout with lots of windows and two sunrooms. The driveway had been recently graded and was in great shape. The yard was mowed and the lilacs were in bloom. Fireflies were visible in the yard at night and there was a symphony owls to be heard at night. There are no houses around and a cute brook running by the house! Def come again!
We had a wonderful time at Jason and Phyllis’s house. We are a family of 4 with 2 young kids and the house was perfectly located for a ski weekend in Platekill mountain. It is a charming house and very functional. We hope to go back!
Solid place to stay for the money. Typical old school Catskill vacation house.
Great place to stay for the weekend. Really appreciate the thoroughness of the directions and having WiFi capabilities because of cellphone service being so limited.
Everything in the listing is completely accurate. Lovely, cozy house tucked off the main road. Everything you need for a stay of any length. Very clear and helpful for directions for getting to the house once you're off main highways. Wifi is fast and reliable. I was up for a wedding, easy 10 minutes away from the venue. Just an all around great experience.
This is a wonderful house, just as clearly and thoroughly described by Phyllis and Jason. They seemed very willing to help in any way as needed, though we didn't need to call on them for any assistance. It is in a very quiet and peaceful place, and we enjoyed our stay very much.
Jason and Phyllis were wonderful hosts! They communicated clearly and often, making sure you knew exactly what to expect before, during, and after your arrival. They answered questions promptly and kindly, and it's very clear they are committed to their guest experience. Thank you for being so wonderful!!
Great house! Listing is accurate!
Jason and Phyllis are absolutely lovely and go above and beyond with their communication! The property is beautiful, and the pond a wonderful addition. Thank you for having us! The sunroom was absolutely lovely and the frogs in the pond provided hours of fun for our daughter.
This home was spectacular. The location was beautiful and fully secluded (something you can't tell from the pictures). The space was more than enough for 5-6 people and everyone in my group was very impressed. We loved the outdoor deck, sunroom, and living room spaces. All bedrooms were very comfortable. If you're looking for a great value in Roxbury, this is the place. Jason and Phyllis were also very accommodating and had excellent communication, so the stay was seamless and stress free. Would definitely recommend this to a friend.
We had a wonderful time. The house is lovely and secluded. Jason and Phyllis are very thorough in their communications. Would definitely stay here again.
Nice house, great location. Though it isn't apparent from the listing, this couldn't be closer to Ski Plattekill. As other reviews say, the pictures on the posting do not do the house justice. It is spacious inside and quite comfortable. For a summer stay with small children (3 and 6 mo) it was perfect, although families should be alerted about a large staircase. It is very quiet, at the end of a long road, and with a creek nearby - very tranquil. Jason and Phyllis were top notch at communicating arrival procedures and expectations about trash/recycling and check out. No complaints at any point.
Wonderful place, hosts are great communicators. Would stay here again!
Great little place. Very close to the Roxbury Barn venue. About 20 mins from other things like ‘downtown’. Very quiet. No issues getting there. If you have navigation in your car, getting around should be simple. Cell service is sketchy but they did warn you!
What a great place to get away from it all. My parents came up from Texas and we all enjoyed the peace and quiet up by the mountain. The "brook" of Brookside fame was fun to hike along and we loved hearing the frogs in the pond. So much room and so many interesting books to read, and a piano to play, and a sunroom to sit in - if even there's rain, there is plenty to do. Jason and Phyllis were excellent hosts and kept in contact with us every step of the way - no confusion about check out and every question was answered quickly and thoroughly. We will definitely stay there again and look forward to coffee on the deck while the deer wander by (that really happened!)
It was so hard to leave this idyllic cabin that’s nestled back in the hollow, near the base of Plattekill Mountain. The brook that passes the house provided a peaceful soundtrack for our stay and star gazing out the skylight at night was a treat. The amenities were terrific. There was plenty of room to cook and clean up in the kitchen. The bathrooms were clean and water pressure fantastic (especially after a long hike). The house was spotless and there were nice touches with towels laid out and fans running to vent the house when we arrived. We were very comfortable throughout our stay. We loved our time here and would come back without hesitation.
Great location Great house. Nicely decorated. We had a great time. Great hosts. Thank you
This house and the land it sit on are gorgeous. You really feel comfortably deep in the woods. Hosts were kind and accommodating.
Great space with lots of rustic wood charm and comfortable and well-placed furniture. Everything clean and orderly. Great, efficient wood-burning stove. Lovely, expansive field outside the living room windows. Jason was a terrific host: responsive and informative. Only slight downside: smallish, closed-in patio that doesn't allow for relaxing outdoors with a view of the open field
Our stay at this house exceeded all our expectations. It is tucked away near the end of a gravel road....we welcomed the privacy, woods, and quiet. The house is equipped with every necessity, comfortable beds, games, and has an ample library in every room. We loved the rustic charm, coupled with all the conveniences. The house is also impeccably clean...when we were looking under furniture for our son’s wandering Legos, we were surprised at how little to no dust accumulation there was. During our stay, we remotely worked and attended school, and the WiFi worked perfectly for all of us. The house is in immediate proximity to stunning, farm landscapes, as well as some great hikes. We are looking forward to our next stay!
Amazing stay. Looking forward to coming back!!!
Very nice house, easy to access but still felt very scenic and secluded. Great area to walk around in. Also, the piano and internet both worked great!
My friends and I had the most lovely stay by the babbling brook at Brookside. Jason and Phyllis were such responsive and gracious hosts, and we would love to come back sometime soon!
Jason and Phyllis were wonderful hosts, and their Brookside cottage was the tranquil getaway my friends and I were desperately seeking. I’d recommend staying at this listing in a heartbeat!
Everything was wonderful –– house, garden, kitchen facilities, etc. And it was also well-supplied with basics like paper products. Beyond that, there was a friendly feeling about the house. The owners did not eliminate all evidence of their personality, so it was very comfy and homey, in addition to being well-supplied and attractive. I hated to leave after a one-month stay. The broker who arranged it, Jason from Pine Hollow Lodging, was accessible and very helpful whenever I had a question.
The house is delightful. Very spacious common areas and well appointed rooms. The house is very secluded and private, the garden is beautiful. Jason and Phyllis are very helpful and communicative.
Had a wonderful stay at Jason and Phyllis's place in the Catskills. The house is exactly as advertised. Plenty of room and a large beautiful garden for enjoyment in the summer. Very much recommend for anyone wishing to enjoy summer out of the city.
Jason and Phyllis are extremely accommodating and their lovely, spacious home was the perfect getaway for our family. The Brookside house is comfortable and tastefully decorated/furnished. The kitchen was stocked with all your basic cabinet needs. The house was also very clean and amenities were provided as described. We would definitely recommend a stay with these awesome hosts.
Jason & Phyllis's place is quaint and just as you would imagine a mountain retreat would be...wood burning stove, lots of books to read, great outdoor space. The house was clean, beds comfy and kitchen well equipped. Sounds of the babbling brook in the back helped lull us to sleep. The house was perfectly situated to the wedding venue we were attending & close to Plattekill Mountain. Hosts very responsive.
Jason and Phyllis were super accommodating. They gave great detailed directions to get to the house. Everything was clean and just as listed.
We stayed for a weekend wedding at nearby Stone Tavern Farm (about a 3 min drive), and really enjoyed the quiet space here. It's a cabin in the woods, so great if you like nature and want a quiet getaway space. Jason was a fantastic host - going above and beyond when the water pump unexpectedly went out when we arrived. He came to the house and checked it out immediately even though it had been working fine a few hours before, had it fixed by 8am the next day (on a weekend!), and credited part of our stay for the inconvenience. Great quiet retreat, and wonderfully attentive hosts!
We three couples stayed here for a weekend because it was so close to the Stone Tavern Farm where our friends' daughter was getting married. It was only 1.6 miles to the venue from here. We enjoyed the peace and quiet of this beautiful, secluded valley and the house was comfortable and homey. Jason and Phyllis were very nice and very attentive to any questions or needs we had. Our only problem was that I didn't read the driving directions carefully before looking for the house. All ended well and we all had a very pleasant stay! We had no cell service in the valley but the wifi at the house was good and allowed us to make phone calls over wifi. The house is not easy to find from the main road but if you follow the driving directions carefully you won't have any problem. Just be aware that if your GPS needs cell service in order to work you can download an off-line map (Hidden by Airbnb) Map of the area before you leave home.
Beautiful secluded location. Next to a few great towns. Everything was clean and seamless.
Wonderful stay at this secluded house in the woods. It worked well to share the house with friends- plenty of common spaces for everyone. Beds were very comfortable, everything clean and useable. We would stay here again in a minute- such a beautiful spot!
Such a charming spot! We had a blast. Directions made it easy. Place was perfect!
Wonderful accommodation and great hosts
My husband and I came for a weekend getaway. This is a great Airbnb! The property is beautiful, quiet, and secluded. There’s a stream right outside and lots of skylights. I highly recommend!
"This is a great home for small family gatherings. A quiet read in the sun room was especially nice. This place has a cabin-y feel to it but it’s not rustic. Very comfortable. Board games and the piano make it relaxing and fun!"
